12:30 - 1:00 p.m.  Buffet Lunch, Welcome and Introductory Remarks

Topic:”Evolution of Discovery Communication’s Capital Structure” What are the basics of capital structure management? This session examines Discovery Communications’ evolution from a privately held media company with only a few cable TV outlets in the U.S. to a publicly traded company with over 140 cable networks in over 200 countries, and discusses the challenges of raising capital in a growing company, the types of debt instruments available, and the importance of continually adapting capital structure to a changing financial position. Learning Objectives: • Learn about debt instruments available to corporations • Discover the challenges of adapting capital structure to a changing financial position.

Speaker: Eugenia Collis, Senior Vice President and Corporate Treasurer Discovery Communications Ms. Gina Collis, SVP and Corporate Treasurer for Discovery Communications, Inc., is responsible for global treasury including financing, capital structure, cash management, treasury operations, financial risk management, corporate risk management and insurance. Prior to Discovery, Ms. Collis was Director of Treasury Operations and Portfolio Administration at Freddie Mac overseeing all treasury operations, cash management, debt and investment operations, trading support and portfolio accounting. Ms. Collis holds the CTP designation, is a member of the AFP and the GWAFP. She previously held various leadership positions for the GWAFP and is a Trustee and Treasurer for the Barker Foundation. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Villanova University and a MS in Finance from American University.

2:00 - 2:50 p.m. Topic: “A Corporate Guide to Card Payments: Examining PCI” When companies look at pursuing compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (“PCI”), the tendency is to approach it as an Information Technology/Security effort. This is the most expensive and time-consuming approach possible. This session will: ask attendees to view ‘security’ as a set of business decisions, examine the decisions that affect the cost and effort of implementing PCI, discuss process changes that can reduce time, effort, budget, and scope of compliance efforts, and provide insights into a variety of compliance enabling technologies which, when paired with informed decision-making, can further reduce a business’ PCI burden. Learning Objectives: • Determine strategy of security as a business decision • Learn the cost and effort of implementing PCI

Sessions generally will be cancelled only for inclement weather. If the U.S. Government closes due to severe weather, the session will be cancelled.  Every effort will be made to notify registered participants of the cancellation by email. In the event of advance payments, participants may request funds be applied to the next upcoming meeting provided 48 hours of notification are given.
