1:15 - 2:05 p.m.                 Topic: ACH and the Mayan Calendar: Foretelling the Year of 2012

 

The ancient Mayan culture foretells of potential events in the year 2012 that could have global impacts.  Don’t miss the foretelling of events impacting the ACH Network and payments in 2012.  This session will detail recent changes to the ACH Rules, changes in the regulatory and legal environment that will require all payments participants to make changes, and what the ACH and payments network might look like in the future. The session will highlight the following discussion topics:

  • The effect of the healthcare legislation will have on the ACH Network
  • Requirements of the new regulatory guidance regarding authentication
  • A review of recent changes to the NACHA Operating Rules
  • Other possible payment initiatives

 

Learning Objectives:

 

-Participants will come away with an understanding of bank pricing trends, industry trends and perceptions, and the reality of what the future may hold in today’s corporate-bank relationship.

 

-More importantly, participants will come away with actions steps they can take to insure that their organization has found the right balance in these uncertain times.

 

Speaker:  Kimberly W. Rector, AAP,Mid-Atlantic Clearing House Association, MD

 

Kimberly is the Senior Director of Education for the Mid-Atlantic Payments Association (MACHA).  She is responsible for providing assistance, education and training regarding the ACH Network and Payment Systems to MACHA’s members.  Kimberly has twenty-six plus years experience in the financial services industry at both commercial banks as well as credit unions, with a concentration in ACH operations and services.

 

In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities as Director of Education, Kimberly also represents MACHA and its members on several NACHA sponsored Work Groups, responsible for the     on-going maintenance and development of new ACH Rules.  She is a regular speaker at both national and regional payment events.  Kimberly is a graduate of “The Payments Institute” which is sponsored by NACHA, and is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP).

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICIES

Sessions generally will be cancelled only for inclement weather. If the U.S. Government closes due to severe weather, the session will be cancelled.  Every effort will be made to notify registered participants of the cancellation by email. In the event of advance payments, the participants may request (1) a refund or (2) payment application to a future session. 

Complaints should be directed to the Education Committee; if resolution cannot be achieved at this level, the complaint will be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
